Product Cleaning Guide

Casegoods

Wood finishes. Remove dust and protect wood finishes using a soft cloth and non-abrasive furniture polish. Avoid polish build-up by applying furniture polish to a soft cloth and gently wiping wood surfaces.

Laminate surfaces. Remove dust, dirt, and spills by wiping soiled areas with a damp cloth using water or window cleaner. If water or cleanser comes into contact with wood surfaces, wipe dry immediately with a soft, dry cloth.

Stubborn stains. Remove stubborn stains with a 2-minute exposure to hypochlorite bleach such as Clorox, followed by a clean water rinse. Avoid. Do not use cleaning agents containing abrasives, acids or alkalis.

Seating

Wood finishes. Remove dust and protect wood finishes by using a soft cloth and a non-abrasive furniture polish. Avoid polish build-up by applying furniture polish to a soft cloth and gently wiping all wood surfaces.

Soiled areas. Clean soiled areas using mild soap and water with a damp cloth, then immediately wipe dry. Apply furniture polish sparingly to a soft cloth and apply to cleaned areas.

Avoid. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents containing ammonia or other solvents.

Tables

Decorative surfaces. The decorative surface may be cleaned with warm water and mild soap, such as those used for hands or dishes. Do not use cleansers which contain abrasives, acids, or alkalis; they will damage the decorative surface.

Stubborn stains. Remove stubborn stains with a 2-minute exposure to hypochlorite bleach such as Clorox, followed by a clean water rinse.

Avoid. We recommend that you not allow any of the following reagents to remain in contact with the decorative surface:

  • Hypochlorite bleach, except as described above
  • Hydrogen peroxide solution
  • Mineral acids, hydrochloric acid, such as Lime-A-Way
  • Lye solutions containing 1% or 2% lye, such as Drano
  • Sodium bisulfate, such as Sani-flush
  • Potassium permanganate
  • Berry juices
  • Silver nitrate, in 1% concentration
  • Gentian Violet
  • Mild silver protein, such as 20% argyrols
  • Bluing
  • Fabric dye, such as Tintex or Rit
  • Alcohol containing 1% iodine in solution
